I’M A BOOHOO AMBASSADOR?! #queensoncampus Event

Even now, weeks after I got that heart-stopping ‘CONGRATULATIONS’ email, it still feels pretty surreal to be writing this post. As you can tell from my not-so-subtle title, I have been chosen to be a Boohoo ambassador! Yep, you read that right. Little old me, as in, tiny micro blogger ME has been chosen to be a Boohoo ambassador! If you had told me this time last year that I would be working with one of the biggest online clothing stores then I would have laughed out loud, and yet here we are, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

This is probably one of the only times I will be super thankful for those (normally annoying) Instagram ads that come up in between posts as you scroll, because if I hadn’t come across the advert to apply, then I never would have even known Boohoo were looking for ambassadors. All it took was an online application, a quick phone interview and the next day I got the email saying I was accepted! I have since found out that around 3,000 people applied, and less than 100 of us were chosen, so I’m feeling quite chuffed with myself to be honest! Blogging has become such a passion of mine over the past couple of years, it’s my hobby, my thing to look forward to and something that genuinely makes me really happy. So to be given opportunities like this on top of that is more than I could ever wish for, and really makes all of the effort I put in worthwhile!

So now it’s time for the exciting bit…my first ever event with Boohoo! If you follow me on my Instagram then you will have already seen a lot of stories from this day. But I also wanted to share the experience over on my blog because it was just the BEST DAY. It all started bright and early when I got up at 6:30am to start getting ready in time to catch my morning train to Manchester. At the station I met up with some girls that I know through Instagram who also got the role and it was great to finally meet them in person! Soon enough, we were in our uber heading to Menagerie for the big day.

Well, it’s safe to say this was one of the most instagrammable setups EVER. Not only is Menagerie itself absolutely gorgeous, with pastel decor, quirky statues and neon lights, but we were also met with balloons, multiple photo setups (complete with ring lights for that perfect lighting), and of course, a glass of prosecco to top it all off. A pretty fabulous welcome if you ask me!

I really was in awe when I first walked in. This felt like a proper bloggers event you know?! I was definitely screaming internally at this point.

After mingling with some of the other girls for a while and enjoying our prosecco, we headed over to the restaurant area, our seats marked with our names on pretty pastel pink boxes. Inside them, were loads of lovely little gifts courtesy of Boohoo, such as makeup brushes and palettes, face masks, jewellery, and even a ring light that attaches to your phone (aka something that I wouldn’t think to buy but I am now obsessed with). I thought this was such a lovely touch and really gave us a warm welcome to the event!

We were then given a presentation by the Boohoo team explaining all about the role, the company, and future things to look forward to which was very exciting. And then, of course, it was time for brunch! I don’t know about you, but if I could have brunch and pornstar martinis on tap like this every day then I probably wouldn’t ever complain again. It seems that Boohoo really knows the way to my heart.

This was a great time to get to know all the lovely girls sat on our tables, and just relax into the event!

Once brunch was over, we were free to walk around and enjoy the rest of the activities they had planned! This included making your own milkshakes, making your own cocktails (guess which one I chose), free hair and nail treatments and clothes samples to look through and try on! Pretty much everything you could want was all contained in one heavenly room.

I spent most of this time chatting with all the other ambassadors who were all sooo lovely. It was also so nice to finally meet some of the girls that I regularly talk to on Insta in person and we all got on so well! Naturally, we made use of the ultra instagrammable set-up and bonded through some photo taking sessions. I mean it would have been rude not to…

If you guessed that I chose the cocktail over the milkshake earlier, then you were 100% correct. Of course I went straight to the cocktail making masterclass, in which I was taught by the lovely barman how to make a French kiss. Ooh Lala. My drink may not have been the most aesthetically pleasing (turns out it’s harder than it looks), but it still tasted delicious so it was a win for me!

I spent the rest of the day getting my nails done by the lovely ladies who came in from New Church house, browsing through the clothes and chatting to more of the girls!

When the party finally came to an end, we still had some time before our trains home, so some of us girls decided to head to another bar in Spinningfields called Sunset, yet another gorgeous place (I think I need to come to Manchester more often!)

This was such a lovely way to round off the day and I really didn’t want to leave at the end of it!

I met such great people and it was just such a happy, fun environment to be in. Being such a small blogger, I never thought that I would be able to go to things like this, and I just feel so grateful to have been invited, and I am super excited for the upcoming months working with Boohoo!
