Back to the 90s With Femme Luxe Finery

*This is a sponsored post and all items featured were kindly gifted to me*

If there’s one trend I can’t get enough of right now, it’s 90s and y2k fashion. Decades later and the styles from these eras have gloriously come back around so now we all have the chance to dress like iconic characters from films such as Mean Girls, Clueless and my personal favourite, Daphne from Scooby Doo. This trend has well and truly taken the fashion world by storm, and I am not mad about it.

If you saw my recent lookbook with Femme Luxe Finery then you will know that lockdown has prompted me to seriously up my loungewear game. Gone are the days when an old stained t-shirt was the only thing you wore inside the house. Yep, people actually lounge around in fashionable clothes now, who would have thought it? The fact of the matter is, when you’re spending this much time at home, whilst comfort is essential, I’ve found that wearing clothes that look good also helps to make me feel good. Striking that perfect balance between comfort and fashion with my WFH outfits has been one of the best things to come out of this lockdown, and my stay-at-home wardrobe has never looked so good.

My last lookbook with Femme Luxe was received really well and you guys loved the outfits I styled, so when they reached out to me again, I jumped at the chance to put together another haul! This time though, you guessed it, I wanted to focus on my favourite era of the moment, and style some 90s inspired loungewear looks. So take a seat, grab a cuppa, and let’s take a trip down memory lane…

CHERRY BOMB

I’m starting off this lookbook with one of my absolute favourite trends right now. I have been seeing these cute 90s inspired cami and vest tops pretty much everywhere recently and I love the different variations of the designs on offer. There’s just something about this look that I find so cute. Give me a plain vest top and it’s nothing special, but stick a cute little embroidery on there and BAM, I’m obsessed. It’s funny how the little details make all the difference.

The cherry print is such an iconic 90s design and I love that it has come back around. It’s the perfect addition to this little crop top! This crop top also came in white, but I just love this baby blue colour (as we all know I am obsessed with pastels), and I think it compliments the red embroidery perfectly! I also love that this vest is ribbed because it makes it feel much better quality than a standard vest.

I paired this adorable vest with the cream joggers I got from my previous collaboration with Femme luxe. As you will already know from that post, these joggers are probably the comfiest item I own. They are made of a super soft material that is absolutely perfect for lounging, but the fit is also really nice, with a perfectly oversized leg and a drawstring waist.

I finished off the look with my custom Dior Air Force 1’s and by putting my hair in this plaited ponytail, which I though added to the cute / athleisure style of the outfit! Overall this look is not only ridiculously comfy, but it is also simply adorable. I may have to go back and purchase this top in every colour…

COTTON CANDY

If you haven’t been living under a rock, then you will know that tie-dye is one of the biggest trends of the season. This is partly owed to the 90s coming back around, and partly because sheer boredom has driven people to DIY tie dye nearly every item in their wardrobes for Tik Tok.

Of course, tie dye owes much of its roots to the swinging 60s, however the 90s was also a big era for this trend, and although it initially gave me nightmarish flashbacks to my fashion crimes as a young teen, I have now fully embraced the bold print.

As we all know, I am a sucker for baby pink clothing, so it wasn’t long before this t-shirt ended up in my basket. Femme Luxe has a range of these oversized t-shirts in different shades, but of course I went for the one that had #PFG vibes.

Although the t-shirt is oversized, for this outfit I tucked it into my bralet for a cropped style which I thought was super cute. Once again, I paired it with these dreamy cream joggers and I think the colours compliment each other perfectly! I also highlighted the pink accents of the outfit with my pink phone case, and the pink Dior pattern of my trainers.

I absolutely adore this look. It is super comfortable, but looks so put together and on trend! I always love having a pop of colour in my outfits and this pink is the perfect tone for summer, I think I’ll be living in this outfit for the foreseeable future.

BABYGIRL

If you don’t own some form of clothing or jewellery that says Babygirl on it by now, then you are one of the few. This 90s trend has taken the fashion scene by storm and I absolutely love it. I don’t know what it is, but adding that one little word onto an item seems to instantly make it 10x cuter.

Whilst my loungewear game has been significantly improved recently, I was still noticeably lacking some cute pyjamas in my collection, so I thought this set would be the perfect addition to my wardrobe!

This is such a simple little set but I love how it looks! The top and shorts are both such a light material, so they are perfect to wear in bed during the warmer months. I also love the length of the shorts because they aren’t ridiculously short like pyjamas sometimes can be.

This set really is perfect for lounging round the house when it’s too hot for joggers and jumpers. It’s super lightweight and comfortable, but actually looks really cute at the same time! Now I really have an excuse to sit in my pyjamas all day.
