One LBD, Two Outfits

There’s nothing better than an item of clothing that you can dress up or down to wear on multiple occasions. When it comes to shopping, I usually try to only buy things that I really like, and things that I know I will get lots of wear out of. However, this can be difficult when trying to get outfits for the winter party season, because often, although they are perfect for that fancy night out you’ve been waiting for…afterwards they end up shoved in the back of your wardrobe until you’re ready to dust them off again next year.

This is something that I really didn’t want to happen this Christmas, which was why I was over the moon when Parisian contacted me and asked to collaborate on Instagram! Having worked with the brand before, I already knew that they offered loads of lovely, versatile items, so I couldn’t wait to choose something from their collection! I wanted to choose something that I knew I could style and restyle again, and so today, in light of my ‘One Item, Three Outfits’ series, I bring you it’s little sister: ‘One LBD, Two Outfits’.

If you haven’t been living under a rock then you will know that the mesh sleeve trend has been around for quite a while now. At first, I must admit I wasn’t too sure what to think, but over time, I have fallen slowly and surely in love with it. It’s the perfect way to dress up an item and I just think it adds such a classy touch to your outfit! Not only this, but I think it’s super flattering on the arms and is a style that anybody can pull off!

When browsing through Parisian’s collection, I found that they had loads of lovely mesh items to choose from, but I was particularly drawn to this gorgeous black dress! The square neckline, bodycon fit and lovely little polka dots on the sleeves make for such a beautiful piece, and I knew how I wanted to style it straight away.

As a dress, I think this looks gorgeous with these white ankle boots. They contrast nicely with the black dress, and are much comfier than stiletto heels! In the winter months, this would also look lovely with a long white teddy coat draped over the top.

I finished off the look with this amazing black mini bag, red lipstick and a pearl hair clip to give it a retro style. I also curled my hair to one side because I think this really compliments the look, making for a more classic outfit.

Overall this dress is comfortable and easy to wear, but makes for a really fancy outfit! It is perfect for winter party season but I will definitely be wearing it all year round.

As beautiful as this dress is, I must admit, I got a few funny looks from people as I walked the streets in it at midday on a Monday (something you will know I am used to if you have read my post on content creating). I absolutely love this item, so I want to be able to wear it as much as possible. And what’s a sure-fire way of making a dress more wearable? Turn it into a top of course.

Being a tight dress, it is very easy to fold up the material without making a huge bulge in my jeans. So, naturally I paired it with my favourite blue denim jeans, and I think they compliment each other really nicely!

If I wanted to dress this outfit up a little bit more then I could pair it with some black or white heels, but for a daytime look, I love it with white chunky trainers. For the rest of the accessories I pretty much duplicated the first outfit, which is what I love about this. Because all you have to do is change a couple of components and you have a very different look!

For me, this outfit is the perfect amount of dressy. It makes me feel like I’ve made an effort and that I look really nice, but I also feel very comfortable in it, and I don’t feel overdressed when wearing it during the day!

This dress has honestly been my saving grace this season, giving me something to wear when I didn’t know what to wear and it was even my Christmas Day outfit. That’s how you know you love something. Once again I am extremely grateful to Parisian for gifting me this item because I adore their clothes, and this is definitely something I would have bought myself. I can’t wait to keep styling it in the new year!

What do you think of the mesh sleeve trend? What did you wear for Christmas Day? Let me know in the comments below!
