Pretty in Parisian

I’ve decided that just because it’s autumn, it doesn’t mean I can no longer wear cute little tie tops and skirts anymore. What it does mean, is that the unfortunate soul who I leave the house with will have to suffer me complaining that I’m cold every few minutes, but what can I say? It’s all in the name of fashion.

This month, I felt extremely lucky when a lovely little email landed in my inbox from a fashion brand called Parisian. As a huge brand with 141k Insta followers, boasting an ever-growing collection of gorgeous items, you can probably imagine my shock and sheer delight that they had asked me (as in tiny little baby blogger ME) to collaborate! Obviously I agreed in a heartbeat, and I couldn’t wait to style something from their fabulous collection!

Parisian very kindly offered to send me an item of my choice and naturally, this was an extremely difficult decision. However, after a while of browsing, I laid eyes on this beautiful tweed / checked skirt, and I knew it was love at first sight. This skirt was one of those items that I could immediately envision in a complete outfit, so I was super excited to get my hands on it and finally put the look together!

Initially, I had been somewhat skeptical as to whether the skirt would fit, as there was no way of tightening this waistline. But much to my delight, it fitted me perfectly. It’s tight in all the right places, but not too restricting. I also love the way its more fitted at the top and then has the peplum style hem at the bottom because overall I think this is just such a flattering fit! The length of skirts can sometimes be tricky to get right when ordering online, but this one is such a great length, not too long or too short, it’s just right. I’m starting to sound like Goldilocks here…

I paired the skirt with this gorgeous little tie-top cardigan from Nasty Gal. I had had my eye on a top like this for a while so this skirt gave me an excuse to finally take the plunge and add it to my wardrobe. With the ribbed, knitted material, and the dainty lace tie in the middle, this top is the perfect crossover between summer and autumn fashion and I think it’s a really wearable piece throughout all of the seasons!

The neckline is low but not too revealing and I also think the shape of it would be complimented really nicely with some layered gold necklaces for an extra bit of detail!

The skirt is made from a thick, good quality material and I think the checked / tweed pattern is such a quintessential autumn look! Plus, the simple black and white colour scheme means it’s an extremely versatile piece. It would also look fab with black tights so it’s definitely wearable throughout the colder months when the hair on your legs is as long as the hair on your head.

Another thing I adore about this piece is that it’s one of those ‘all angles’ items. Basically, I love the way it looks from the front, the back, the side or even upside down (probably). I really feel like, because of the cut and shape, this is one of those items that you feel confident in no matter which way you look at yourself, and that is EXACTLY what you want from your clothes!

Overall, I can’t really say enough good things about this skirt because I’m pretty much obsessed with it right now. I am so happy with the way the outfit turned out, I think it’s such a classy look and it came together exactly how I’d envisioned it – don’t you just love it when that happens?

I want to reiterate just how excited and grateful I am to be given opportunities to work with brands like Parisian. As a small blogger, it really means a lot to me that people out there enjoy my content enough to want to collaborate with me! I adore what I do and having the chance to work with amazing brands like this is just the icing on this delicious blogging cake of mine. So thank you once again to Parisian for my new favourite skirt, and guys, if you haven’t already checked them out then I urge you to do so. Trust me, your closet will love you for it…your bank account might not though.
