Air Hostess, I Like the Way You Dress

Despite what you may think (and what you perhaps hoped for), this post isn’t actually a tribute to Busted. In fact it has nothing to do with the band whatsoever, so if you came here for the nostalgia, news of a reunion, or some sort of weird Busted fan fiction (probably exists somewhere on the internet) then you might want to leave now. Or, you might want to stay and see a killer outfit, I mean you’re here now anyway, you may as well…

After all that, you might be a bit confused about the title of this post, and I don’t blame you. But hopefully you will see that the explanation is neatly tied up in the form of a gorgeous little necktie from Primark. I was wandering through the shop with my sister last week helping her revamp her work wardrobe when I came across a couple of really cute things (I mean when does that not happen with me?) I immediately envisioned a look in my head so I couldn’t wait to style up the things that I got!

Firstly I picked up this really cute little white collared top in the sale for just £3! I had seen of these style over the past few weeks and initially didn’t think that much of them / I didn’t really know how I would style them, but this one really stood out to me. The cut of it takes me back to a 50s style and I feel like there are multiple ways to wear it simply by the amount of buttons you have done up. I wouldn’t say it’s my ‘typical’ style but I knew the look I had in mind when I saw it!

Secondly, and perhaps most importantly for the purpose of explaining this post, was this gorgeous brown pleated necktie! I loved this as soon as I spotted it on the shelf. I already have quite a few scarves but I always find that they’re simply too long to wear in the ways I would like to, so I was really happy to have spotted one that was the perfect length! I think it’s such a classy accessory to have and can up the sophistication of any outfit. When I wear it, I feel like I’m giving off air hostess vibes, you know, like one of the fancy air hostesses on the fancy airlines (aka the ones I am yet to ever travel with) and I’m kinda living for it…

When I first picked up the scarf, I imagined it with a slip dress, and I still want to put that outfit together at some point because I think I will LOVE it, but for now I opted for these amazingly comfy and gorgeous wide leg trousers from H&M. Not only are they super chic and versatile, they only cost me £6 in the sale! I get so much wear out of them and this outfit is one of my fave ways to style them! I think the beige and brown tones compliment the brown and white of the necktie and top and pull it all together in a neutral-toned outfit, a colour palette which is perfect for autumn.

Of course no outfit is complete without some killer shoes, so I opted for my favourite heeled sandals and ultimate Topshop/Zara dupes from Primark because I think they make everything look super classy. Once again I love the way they compliment the colour palette of the outfit and they just finish it off nicely, keeping up that classy air-hostess vibe.

When I wear a more tailored look, I always like to accessorise with this white / transparent bag from Primark because I think it really compliments that style! It’s the perfect little handbag for when you want to look that little bit fancier and I love the way it finishes off this look!

So do you get what I mean now? Totally got that air-hostess look going on right? Do we like it? This whole outfit is one of those ‘looks more expensive than it is’ situations, which is exactly what I was going for. I feel super classy in this look, when in reality, then ENTIRE outfit cost me under £30, with everything except the trousers and earrings being from Primark! Who says you can’t look expensive on a budget?

I hope you like the look I put together! What’s your favourite part of the outfit? Have you got any bargains recently? I’d love to know in the comments below!
