Summer Staples with Cat’s Eyes Vintage

I think I’ve always quite liked the phrase better late than never. Maybe it’s because it reminds me that it’s never too late to try something new, or maybe it’s simply because it makes me feel better when I don’t do my blog posts on time. Regardless, this post is a perfect example of that well-known phrase.

Last month, I finally got the chance to meet up and do a shoot with the lovely Cat Patterson, aka owner of the fabulous Cat’s Eyes Vintage. If you have been here for a while then you might remember the post I did back in April when Cat sent me one of the gorgeous blazers from her collection. If you’re a newbie here, first of all welcome to the club, and second of all, you can check out that post here (if you’re looking for colourful autumn inspo then this is the post for you). Cat and I had wanted to shoot some content for a while, but me living in France sort of put a spanner in the works, so I was thrilled when we finally got the chance to this summer!

For those who don’t know about Cat’s brand, it’s a vintage boutique, offering high fashion looks for the sustainable shopper. Cat’s Eyes stands out with its pastel colours, statement blazers, and stylish slip dresses. With all items styled by Cat herself, the clothes may be recycled but the looks certainly aren’t. Think vintage styles with a modern twist and voilà you meet the brand’s mantra. The boutique can be found on ASOS Marketplace and you can also keep up with Cat’s content via her instagram!

With sustainability being the topic on everybody’s lips right now, shopping vintage is a great alternative for the ethically conscious. We all know that thrifting can be a long, daunting and usually unsuccessful process, which is why boutiques like Cat’s Eyes are so unbelievably helpful. It takes the digging behind rails, trawling through boxes and hours of searching for that perfect item out of charity shopping, by selecting and styling the best items for you, basically, it saves you a LOT of time. I suppose you could call it fast fashion after all, but this time it’s in a good way.

I wanted to share some of my favourite items I wore in the shoot we did together to give you a little taste of Cat’s brand and the fab styles she picks out…

This is just a small selection to show you the beaut pieces Cat’s Eyes has on offer, all looks were styled and photographed by Cat herself (with a little bit of help from a high-vis jacket we found laying around the shoot location).

I’d like to think this post embodied the phrase better late than never in more than one way. Firstly, because I took so long to write it and I’m really happy to finally have it on my blog. Secondly, because I have followed Cat’s brand for a long while now, and was so excited when we could eventually get together to shoot and create what, in my opinion, was a great outcome! Sadly, none of these items are available to buy anymore, but before you cry out in despair, don’t worry, because there are still loads more gorgeous items to shop in the boutique! Make sure to check out Cat’s shop on Instagram to see more killer vintage looks.

Whilst you’re at it, you can see more photos like this on my Instagram so give it a little scroll…
